Some of us learn to carry quietly
to smooth the surface
so nothing looks disturbed

we nod
we smile
we keep things moving

but underneath
there are marks
small signs of resistance
heels pressed into shifting ground
proof that we didn’t go easily

not everything is meant to be
hidden

some things leave a trail
on purpose or not

in the way we pause
in what we don’t say
in how we hold ourselves together

it’s all there
if someone’s paying attention

and maybe that’s the question
beneath everything

not “what’s wrong?”
not “tell me everything”
but

can you notice?
can you read what isn’t said?
can you meet me here
without needing it explained?

because sometimes
being found
isn’t about being lost

it’s about being seen
before you ask for it
